she plays...

My daughter got it in her head that she wanted to play guitar. So she went out with her Christmas money plus some hard earned cashola and purchased this beauty and a how to teach yourself guitar book. She'll do just that too. I can't help thinking about when she taught herself to ride her bike. She just wasn't "getting it" with our instruction. She insisted that we leave her alone and let her figure it out. A couple of hours later she had it and was happy as could be on her new "wheels" and newly found freedom. It his her determination and stubborness that has already proven to be among her finest attributes.
This is something I always wanted to do myself, I'm inspired...
The picture was taken by her little sister and she edited it.
Happy Saturday!!
We are having guests for the weekend from NY.
I better go get myself pulled together.

i love the soothing sound of the guitar. my son took lessons for a while and during the summer he stopped, we moved and i haven't looked for a new teacher, hmmm... i might just have to take care of that now. because he was really good, but at this point he might just need a little nudge.....beautiful picture=)

That picture would make a great album cover! ;-) My guitar is just sitting in my room right now --one of these days Amy. .

my kids are beaming at all of their art compliments....thanks amy. i don't know where they get those skills from, but definitely not from me. i am drawing challenged. i noticed your daughter is quite the artist herself. what a talented girl!
i noticed that you mentioned that your older two are hearing impaired, did i read that correctly? i had a cousin and a good friend in high school who were, as well. i used to know sign language once upon a time.....i haven't used it in years, though. i have thought of giving the kids a unit on it, just because one never knows when they might be able to use a skill like that to help someone.

That is such a great picture - and what a wonderful attribute to be able to tackle things like that!

amy, i hope i didn't get to personal on that last comment. sometimes i forget that the blogs are public and maybe i said something i shouldn't have....i am just the kind of person, that when i care about someone, i say what is on my mind, in a chit-chat sort of way, not always thinking first....so sorry.=)

Yeah!!!! I'm glad she got it. I'm not sure Mike ever emailed like I asked him to. Can't wait to hear her play.
