rearranging...

I have been rearranging every room in the house, or so it seems...

The living room has been my latest project. The curtains are from Ikea. I purchased them on a trip there at the end of last month. I wasn't crazy about them but the length was right and the price was right. I didn't take them out of the packaging in case I found something I liked better. I looked everywhere for 96 '' but found only a few and nothing I cared for. I would have made them if I found a fabric that jumped out at me.

The other day, I finally gave up and hubby and I hung these. You know what, I kind of like them. Very neutral, I love the length, yeah, I can live with these.

It is a very small living room. There is not a whole lot you can do with the furniture. But I did discover a furniture arrangement I haven't tried before-lol.
We're going to try it this way for a while.

It's cozy, I think.

I have some different ideas for what I want to put on the walls. I'll let you know when I figure it out.

Hope you are having a great Saturday!

pizza night...

Friday is always pizza night. Sometimes we buy it from a local pizzeria and sometimes we make it. Actually, hubby makes it. He has become quite proficient at making the dough. When we make it at home we make garlic knots. Garlic knots seem to be a NY thing and not necessarily a Lancaster thing. I'll post about them another time. So yummy and so simple.

The tulips were given to me last week by a friend on the day our oldest daughter left for college. It was a rough day... We miss her but are thrilled that she has the opportunity to be where she is.
I finished this dresser today. I am not sure yet if I will keep it for my living room or bring it in my space at Building Character. I am trying it out-lol.

And this is what happens when you give her just a little bit of whoopie pie and about 2 minutes. No, she didn't open the container and stick her face in it and yes, the chair got the rest of it. It was about a tablespoon of filling but wow, what a mess!

a beautiful day...

Here in Lancaster County it was a whopping 62 degrees yesterday!
It was beau-ti-ful!

She is wondering where her Sunflower House disappeared to. This is where we plant sunflower seeds and it fills in and acts a fort for the little ones-so fun.
She asked for 2 things for Christmas this year, bubble gum and silly string. It only appears as if she is spraying the truck.
The weather station atop of the clothes line.
Underneath this contraption is the hydrangea bush tucked in for the winter.
How fun to have a day in January to run around the yard with no coat, hat, or mittens.
Indeed the real excitement around here today was the greenhouse going up.

Have a great day!
